December 22, 2020: Winter Break Testing Schedule

Dear colleagues,

Just ahead of winter recess, I write with a reminder of the testing schedule and a clarification on who should be testing over break.

The schedule for once-weekly COVID testing in Beckham Hall will be adjusted due to the holidays.

Testing will take place today, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 29 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For the month of January, beginning Jan. 6, testing will return to Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Throughout January, testing will be limited only to those positions designated as essential personnel and to those positions that directly support students remaining on campus over break. Other employees should not be testing on campus but will resume testing for the spring semester in early February. Please direct any questions to your supervisor.

December 17, 2020: Winter Break COVID Reminders

To the campus community,

As we approach the winter recess, I write with several important reminders:

For employees working on campus over the coming weeks:

COVID testing in Beckham Hall will continue to operate on a reduced schedule for those staff whose work requires them to be on campus: Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Due to the holidays, the weekly testing will shift to Tuesday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 29 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., before returning to Wednesdays again on January 6, 2021. All students and employees working on campus should test once per week. Please remember to book your testing appointments online in advance in order to avoid unnecessary crowding in Beckham Hall. Only Wesleyan students, employees, and subcontractors may test on campus.

Subject: Public Health Update

To the Wesleyan Community,

Greetings from the Davison Health Center. As of Monday evening, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont has mandated by executive order that face coverings be worn in public anywhere a 6-foot distance is unavoidable, including in stores, pharmacies, and at grab-and-go restaurants, as well as when using public transportation and in the workplace. Employees working on Wesleyan’s campus are required to wear face coverings while at work and when the 6-foot distancing requirement is unattainable. Employees may have some flexibility when working in offices alone with the door closed, but must have a face covering available. Please see the State of Connecticut’s “Safe Workplace Rules for Essential Employees.”

Wesleyan is offering free face coverings to students, faculty, and staff on campus. Students may pick up masks at a pop-up station on the main floor of Usdan. Staff and faculty masks are available for pick-up at Wes station in the basement of Usdan…
