To the Wesleyan Community:

In light of the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in New York (especially in New York City and Westchester County) we urge students, staff and faculty to avoid travel to and from New York at all costs.

Travel to an epicenter such as we are seeing in New York not only increases your own risk of contracting COVID-19 but also puts others at risk. This is counterproductive to the principle of physical and social distancing which the experts feel is crucial to decreasing the spread of this progressing pandemic.

If you do have an urgent need to travel to New York or another epicenter of the outbreak, you must self-isolate following your return for a period of 14 days.

Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe, especially those who remain working on campus.
