Subject: Vaccine Eligibility
I trust this note finds you well and safe. Connecticut is in phase 1b of the vaccine rollout, in which those 55 and older will be eligible to register to receive the vaccine beginning on March 1. The state has altered its rollout strategy and will continue to use aged-based eligibility, which is designed to simplify the scheduling and administration of COVID-19 vaccines for both recipients and providers alike.
Employees who fall into this category (55 and older) can find information about scheduling an appointment for their vaccine on the state’s website.
The state has posted a timeline of future rollouts, which indicates individual age 45-54 will likely begin scheduling appointments on March 22, and age 35-44 are scheduled beginning on April 12.
As these dates are subject to change, we will keep you informed when new age groups are confirmed. The University encourages everyone to consider the important public health benefits of getting this vaccine when you have the opportunity to do so. We are all looking forward to a time in the future when we will benefit from immunity against COVID-19.
